ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the opening of the body over rounds 29 to 31
at the bottom of the head (Picture 18). Use the marked
stitches from round 19 of the body, which indicates the
front centre of the body, to align the head (Picture 19).
  2. Sew the wings to between rounds 26 and 27 of the
body. The front corners should be 7 stitches apart in the
    front (Picture 20).
  3. Sew each foot to each leg. As a recommendation, the
“V” of each single crochet used to close the top of the
leg faces the outside of the leg (Picture 21). The yarn
tail brought out between rounds 3 and 4 indicates the
back of the leg (Picture 21). To give Frederik a cuter
look, have his toes pointing inwards. To achieve this,
the toe on the “outside” of the foot should align with the
top of the leg (Picture 22). Check the placement of the
foot before sewing if you wish. To do this, pin the foot to
the base of the leg, then pin the leg over rounds 8 to 13
of the body (Picture 23). If happy with the placement,
remove the legs from the body. Using the yarn tail from
the leg, go through the front loops left from round 3 of
the leg (Picture 24), to sew the base over rounds 4 to 6
of the top of the foot (Picture 25).
  4. Sew the legs over rounds 8 to 13 of the body. The
back edge of the leg should fall in line with the back of
the wing (dotted line, Picture 23).
  5. Sew the opening of the beak over rounds 19 to 22 of
the head, between the eyes (Pictures 26, 27).
  6. Sew the bow to the top centre of the body just under
    the head.
  7. Pull his hat over his head.
